“The PDP is the founder of our modern democracy and would make sure that it not only endures in Nigeria but also contributes to the growth of the nation.

I take great delight in having contributed to the process of fostering the party from infancy to a conscious agency of socio-political and economic growth in Nigeria as one of the founding fathers of our great party, the PDP.

“During the 16 years that the PDP presided over activities in our nation, the party provided excellent leadership through a variety of administrations, and the accomplishments made during that time have remained the standard for healthy growth in our economy and other important spheres of our society.

The PDP, he said, “took a leading role in the dismantling of military rule in Nigeria, and the peculiarities of our contemporary experiences both within Nigeria and other countries in Africa demand that the PDP should once again rise to the occasion in eradicating the economic hardship and other structural deficiencies that directly bear negatively on our people in the past nearly eight and a half years.”

And Abubakar said:

“I am absolutely certain that the PDP will recover and provide Nigerians with a responsive government.”
