Brighton & Hove Albion, a club in England’s Premier League, has been connected to Bassey.
This past summer, the 23-year-old transferred to Ajax from Scottish Premiership club Glasgow Rangers.
The Nigerian international had an up-and-down season with the team.
For the first half of the season, Bassey was a mainstay in the starting lineup for the defending European champions.
The left-back is interested in moving to Brighton, but staying with Ajax is more important to him.
My goal was to be back in top shape for my comeback. There’s a new coach in charge, and I’m eager to make a good impression right away. I’ve put in the work, and I know it’ll pay off in the end,” he told Ajax TV.
Last year, Bassey made 25 appearances for Ajax in the league and scored once.
