Dr. John Marcus Ayuba, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) running mate for governor in Kaduna State in the upcoming election, has urged the residents of Southern Kaduna to pray fervently for peaceful coexistence and to be watchful to prevent further fatalities in the region. About seven people have been killed in recent attacks in Southern Kaduna by unidentified gunmen, while other victims have been hospitalized with varied degrees of injury. In a personal message of sorrow to the residents of the Ikulu and Kagoro Chiefdoms on the recent attacks and homicides in the local government areas of Zango Kataf and Kaura in Kaduna State, Dr. John Ayuba prayed for the victims’ souls to find peace. “It’s terrible hearing the killings in Ikulu and Kagoro Chiefdoms, the killings in Southern Kaduna, and the killings in other parts of the state like Giwa and Igabi are getting out of hand,” he said. It is time for all of us to take action by forming lawful vigilantes to patrol our area and stepping up our prayers to God Almighty for harmony. He argued that the situation in Kaduna State right now affects everyone since an injury to one is a damage to all, and that the people cannot continue in this manner. The running mate said that Kaduna needed serious prayers to stop killings and expose those responsible for the killings in the nation. He added that the people needed peace rather than a crisis because all Kaduna residents are one despite variations in ethnicity and religion. He emphasized, “We win nothing by killing one another, but we gain by assisting one another.
