Gary Neville gives the Arsenal board two new additions to replace Arteta

In the midst of the Premier League title chase, Manchester United star Gary Neville has urged the Arsenal board to bring in two players for manager Mikel Arteta.

Neville thinks Arsenal have a great chance to win the Premier League this year for the first time in 19 years, but for that to happen, the club’s administration needs to support Arteta in the January transfer window.

The veteran defender made this statement during Tuesday night’s 0-0 stalemate between Arsenal and Newcastle United. Arteta made just one substitution, replacing Ben White with Takehiro Tomiyasu, and the Gunners only managed four efforts on goal throughout the encounter.

Additionally, Arteta’s bench of substitutes lacked any genuine firepower to alter the game at the Emirates Stadium, according to Neville, who also believes that Arsenal had “run out of ideas.”

According to him, two additional additions this month may make the difference between Arsenal winning the Premier League title and losing it.

Neville told Sky Sports, “The intriguing thing is Vieira – I think he cost £34million.”

“Mikel Arteta plainly believed that by adding him to the lineup, the team’s chances of winning tonight’s game would be diminished. Therefore, he lacks confidence in his bench to enhance the current team.

“They lacked an alternative strategy for the back-up.

“What they did tonight would have been effective against 10 to 15 league teams. They performed admirably tonight. Arsenal struggled to come up with anything during this game, but I do believe Arteta should have had more resources available to him on the bench, and they ought to make a transfer.

When will they next be in a situation where they have a chance to win the league? The question is whether the board and owners can identify the two players who will convert that one point into three.

There are still 21 games to play. They’ll have a lot more of those where they are going to be up against it – they might be one down and need two goals, so yeah, they need something off the bench.”
