The physicians made the choice to show support for one of their own, Dr. Ekanem Ephraim, who was abducted from her Calabar home on Thursday.

According to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN), this information was shared in a statement signed by Dr. Felix Archibong, the Cross River branch chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), on Sunday following an EGM in Calabar.

You may recall that on Thursday at around 7.30 p.m., Ephraim, a doctor at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), was kidnapped from her home by armed men pretending to be patients.
