Rohr, Benin’s coach, is expecting a fierce battle with Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Gernot Rohr, the coach of the Benin Republic national soccer team, is looking forward to facing off against Nigeria’s Super Eagles in World Cup qualifiers in 2026.

From 2016 through 2021, Rohr led the Super Eagles.

Group C of the qualification tournament pits the Squirrels against the three-time African champions.

The other teams in the group are from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, and Lesotho.

The group winner will advance directly to the World Cup.

The 70-year-old is bracing himself for a fierce battle against his former squad.

Benin was placed in a very difficult group, which includes the clear favorite, Nigeria, whom we are familiar with. According to Rohr, a Franco-German technician, “the others, that is, South Africa, already qualified for the next AFCON very early with a new state of mind.” 24HauBenin reported this information.
