Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has declared that the University of Ilesa’s launch will follow the law and best practices.

In addition, the Governor promised that the university would become one of the top public colleges in the nation.

This was said by Adeleke in response to the findings of the NUC team’s resource assessment visit to the university.

The Osun governor expressed happiness that the National University Commission, NUC, had authorized the University of Ilesa to offer 32 courses for the 2023–2024 academic year. He also pledged that his administration would support the new institution as it currently supports the Osun State University, UNIOSUN.

“I’m thrilled that the NUC arrived, observed, and verified the university’s readiness. I thank the NUC management on behalf of the Osun State Government. The University of Ilesa is beginning to operate in accordance with national standards and best practices. Our plan is effective.

“As we do for Osun State University, our government would continue to support the new institution. We’ll see to it that the university upholds rigorous academic standards. The public should hold the University of Ilesa to the same standards as they hold Osun State University.

“I must also praise the Ijesha sons and daughters who made financial contributions to assure the university’s success. Our government will make the most of the community’s support and university buy-in, the governor said.
