ESPN says that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract with Chelsea would be terminated so that he may sign with Marseille as a free agent.
The Ligue 1 club and Aubameyang have reached an oral agreement on a three-year contract.
Although he arrived at Stamford Bridge from Barcelona in September 2022, the 34-year-old striker failed to make an immediate impact, scoring only three goals.
After spending 2011–2013 with Saint-Etienne, Aubameyang will return to France and Ligue 1 with his next move.
Since Mauricio Pochettino took over as manager, there has been a major shakeup in the Chelsea roster.
Romelu Lukaku, according to Pochettino, is also close to finalizing a transfer to a new club.
