In an effort to capture Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach, Chelsea has started negotiations.

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, revealed this over the weekend in a post sent from his Twitter account.

In a tweet, Romano stated that Chelsea saw Marcus Thuram as a significant market potential. He added that more negotiations will take place in the next days to determine the terms and price for January.

Since he won’t extend his contract with Borussia and will be free in June, Tharam will weigh all of his choices.

In the meantime, Manchester United’s attempt to recruit Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer has failed.

In the midst of uncertainty around the future of their first-choice goalkeeper David de Gea at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are keeping an eye on Sommer in the January transfer window.

Bayern Munich, who are seeking a goalkeeper to replace the injured Manuel Neuer, will present stiff competition for Erik ten Hag’s team.

Roland Virkus, the director of Borussia Monchengladbach, has reiterated that the Switzerland international would not be permitted to leave the team this month.

The Rheinische Post was informed by Virkus that Yann Sommer will not be let go in January. Bayern has also been notified by us.
