Lorient, a Ligue 1 team, will only accept bids for forward Terem Moffi that are in the range of €25 million.
A number of reports say that Southampton has begun negotiations with Moffi’s representation about a transfer this month. Moffi is the subject of interest from Premier League clubs.
After declining some highly alluring offers for the striker last summer, Lorient is ready to let him go.
In 16 league appearances for Les Merlus this year, Moffi has scored 10 goals.
The international player from Nigeria has a strong scoring record since joining Lorient three years ago, tallying 32 goals in 85 league contests.
The Saints have had trouble scoring goals this year, and on Wednesday night they lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest at home thanks to a strike from another Nigerian, Taiwo Awoniyi.
Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham United, and Brighton & Hove Albion are also reportedly interested in the youngster.
