The Red Devils will finish third behind Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, according to a fivethirtyeight supercomputer.
With a five-point advantage over the Cityzens, the Gunners are now sitting atop the table.
The same model predicts that Liverpool will finish the campaign in fifth place, eliminating them from contention for Champions League football.
The most recent supercomputer forecast projects that United will finish the season with 71 points, two points ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s team, who will conclude the campaign with 69 points.
Tottenham Hotspur will round up the top-six, leaving Newcastle United to fill the final Champions League slot.
