Due to a lack of resources and infrastructure, Guinea, a small country in West Africa, withdrew from hosting the biannual championship.

The two nations have now formally submitted their bids to the Confederation of African Football, according to GHANAsoccernet.com (CAF).

Zambia, Senegal, and South Africa have also submitted proposals to host the continent’s premier soccer event.

Between January 5 and January 25, a CAF inspection team will travel to every nation to inspect their facilities.

The nation or nations that will host the event on February 10, 2023 will be decided by the continental soccer regulatory body.

You may remember that Nigeria and Ghana shared hosting duties for the AFCON finals in 2000.
