Why Onyeka was absent when Brentford and Spurs drew

Due to an injury, Frank Onyeka was unable to participate in Brentford’s Boxing Day 2-2 tie with Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite playing in all of the Bees’ friendlies throughout the World Cup break, manager Thomas Frank surprisingly kept the Nigerian international off of the matchday squad.

The Athletic UK’s Jay Harris, a Brentford writer, reported that Onyeka’s hamstring injury prevented manager Frank from using his services.

To be ready for Brentford’s upcoming league match against West Ham United on December 30, the midfielder must act quickly.

This year, the 25-year-old has played 12 league games for Brentford.

The London club is now tenth on the standings.
