The Sopurum Hotel in Onitsha, Anambra State, was destroyed by fire. The hotel was located in the Nkwelle neighborhood.
In the early hours of Monday, KURYALOADED learned that a major portion of the hotel had been destroyed by fire.
Firemen from the states of Delta and Anambra are currently on the scene, fighting to contain the situation as this report is being written.
DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, told Channels TV that the fire was confirmed and that the situation was under control.
You may relax; we’ve got this under control. We were alerted to the fire at 4:30 on Monday morning, and our guys rushed to the scene, where they cordoned off the area to prevent vandalism.
