I have never engaged in any corruption, said the chairman of the Taraba PRP

Abdullahi Maikasuwa, the embattled chairman of the Taraba State Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in Taraba State, has refuted the accusations of corruption made against him by a few irate party members.

Despite the accusations, Maikasuwa has stated his intention to keep serving as the party’s chairman and overseeing its operations.

In response to a number of claims, including suspected corruption and anti-party activity, he said that those responsible for such crimes lacked the authority to exercise such powers under the constitution and insisted that due process had not been followed.

As he handed out certificates of return to candidates vying for various elective seats in Jalingo on the PRP platform on Tuesday, the embattled chairman claimed those calling for his resignation have no valid justifications.

He said those trying to paint his good name black were only out to destroy the party’s superwaves established for possible victory in the next coming election.

He asserted that individuals making the claim were supported by both the All Progressive Congress and the state’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) (APC).

The sponsors of the attack on his person, according to him, are under threat after realizing that the PRP was winning in Taraba.

“I want to make it clear to you that, I am not suspended, and I do not have elements of corruption in me, I have never demonstrated any act of corruption or any conduct that is contradictory to the terms of our party’s constitution,” the speaker emphasizes.

The “false allegations against me are being sponsored by both PDP and APC to destroy the super waves been established by our party for a possible victory,” according to those in charge of the “national Secretariat of our party, which is headed by people of integrity who would not accommodate any corrupt practice from anyone.”

He said, “both the PDP and APC are feeling threatened by the kind of support we are gaining by the day ahead of the election, and they have succeeded in injecting into some of our members to destroy our waves ahead of the election.”

Urging the aggrieved party members to sheath their swords by joining hands with him to catapult the party to the height, he said such a call if adhered to, will push the party to victory after the elections.
