Mbappe is AWOL as PSG players congratulate Messi on winning the World Cup
On Wednesday, Lionel Messi, a star for Paris Saint-Germain, returned to base.
Upon arrival, his teammates created an honor guard to greet the 35-year-old.
After helping Argentina overcome France in the 2022 World Cup final, Messi took a little vacation.
Before the training session began, a guard of honor was created for him as he arrived, and then sporting director Luis Campos gave him a tiny trophy before he was cheered onto the practice field.
At their practice facility, Messi gave Neymar and his teammates a warm embrace while flashing a wide smile.
The opponent he defeated in the final, Kylian Mbappe, was not present because he was given a break.
On December 28, PSG played their first domestic match of the season against Strasbourg.
