Don’t politicize player selection, says Zamfara’s governor to the NFF and other football stakeholders

Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, the deputy governor of Zamfara State, has pleaded with sports officials not to politicize the choice of football players for the state team.

He added that in order for any state to field a pride squad, it must forgo using politics or personal gain in the choice of professional athletes.

He asked the NFF president to view his election as a challenge to the entire northern area, not just to him.

The former governor of Zamfara State, Mr. Mamuda Aliyu Shinkafi, described football in his words as a type of international politics that may advance harmony and understanding.

The NFF president expressed interest in promoting football activities around the country during the reception.

Gusau urged the Zamfara State FA to carefully choose the State’s qualifying athletes for national examination.
